inspired by the gas fitters' big day

It's over two months now since we were invaded by the team of gasmen. They had come to upgrade our pipes from metal to plastic. All the preparation is now complete and today was the big changeover. Every house was checked and supplies switched off. Fire extinguishers were strategically placed and the re-connections begun. After much shouting of instructions and the obligatory tea breaks, all was completed and the convoy of vans left the Crescent, their task completed.

Well, not quite. They still have to return and fill the holes!
