Wolds walk

Another really-too-early call from Bailey this morning but we did need to be up fairly early to head out into the Wolds with the bestest friend. A mizzly, drizzly start as we parked up in the pub car park that we were due to have our lunch in once we'd walked up an appetite. It was a varied walk with lots of autumn colour and definite hills which makes a change for Lincolnshire, although not that part of it. Bailey kept going for most of it with a few lie downs including one fairly spectacular collapse on his side in the middle of a field. We had a couple of off-route detours - one of which meant that I got my extra shot of some vergeside borage - and reckon that we probably did nine miles rather than the seven in the book. A good walk, though with views that may be seen again and fully appreciated on a brighter day.

The pub had held our table and we enjoyed a good pint and fish and chips. Bailey enjoyed blending in with the pub floor and quite a bit of attention from the landlady and a couple of other customers.

Home and an hour's lie down this afternoon with achey legs. Bailey is still in the same place and Strictly is done. He might wake up in time to go to bed.
