Happy Diwali!

Colin accompanied Basil and me on the bus to Leicester to see the Diwali lights after dark.

It's a long journey after dark but Colin has all sorts of tales to tell and useful titbits of information to impart.

He held Basil on the lead while I set up my camera and tripod and took the shots.

Definitely an air of anticipation this evening as the shops shut just after 7 pm. The aroma of curry permeated the air making us salivate.

Small kids were dropping small firecrackers, rather like caps, on the pavement. Perhaps that's what unnerved Basil who didn't seem fully at ease.

Tomorrow is Diwali Day. The Golden Mile will be heaving.
