Tulip tree

It's easy to see how this tree got its name!  Quite spectacular, but there was a time (during the drought) when we really thought we'd lost it.  it's been in the ground for 16 years (it is our millennium tree), a very slow grower in this climate.

It has loved all the rain we've had this winter and has more flowers on it than I've ever seen before.
