A Koru,

the unfurling new frond of a New Zealand silver fern. The koru (Maori for loop)  symbolises new life, growth, strength and peace and is an integral symbol in Maori art, carving and tattoos. A stylised Koru is also the symbol of our national airline, Air New Zealand.
