First hair cut
Today started with an 8am swimming lesson for Will. He is now in grade 2 and I suspect will pass this time and go up to grade 3 next time. He swims a width confidently on his front and back and is now working on backstroke arms. During his swimming lessons, I watch from the reception area through the window. This morning, Will's instructor spent nearly half the lesson demonstrating backstroke arms from the side of the pool and Will spent half a session trying desperately to copy her. What she hadn't realised was that, due to her being stood up, when she demonstrated the arms, her stroke ended with her hand pointing towards the ceiling. So William, being the fairly literal little boy that he is, applied all the aspects of the technique that she showed him - just as she showed him - finishing his arm stroke pointing at the ceiling rather than going all the way over his head into the water. That said - he didn't give up and just kept on trying. When he got out and we were in the changing rooms, I explained to him and laid him across my lap so that he could 'swim'. He got it straight away. It was amusing watching him and his instructor during his swim though.
Once we were back home I had the Aldi shop to do (a task I hate!) and then put away before taking Arthur for his dog training lesson. We stayed at the end of the lesson so he could play with another similar aged and sized black cockapoo. After chasing each other around the field and rolling around together like a black and white ball for about 30 minutes, we had to leave despite neither puppy being remotely tired!
Arthur's puppy coat has been gradually growing out and he looked as though he had a cloud of knotty fluff over a thicker layer underneath so once we got back I popped him around to the lady just along the road for a trim. The extra's are a photo of a newly trimmed Arthur, pretending he wasn't about to steal some shoes from the rack by the back door and a sleepy Arthur before the hair cut after we returned from the beach the other day.
