Dog walk with a difference

I have had such a productive day today, it has left me feeling really happy! Who would think just one extra hour could make such a difference?

At 9.30 Jon set off with Henry to their Archery club. Jon tells me that there is a law set hundreds of years ago, which has never been repealed. It states that every man and boy must practice archery every Sunday. It might be true - I've read varying things when I googled it!

Anyway, I got up with sewing in mind. I remade a cushion, with a new backing; the front is a lovely tapestry my mum made. The cushion was a bit too well stuffed, so now I've  used reused the stuffing for two cushions, and I've made a new matching cushion for my conservatory sofa. I plan to make more, all a little bit different. The idea came from a fellow blipper, who blipped her amazing cushions once, and from then on I decided I wanted to do the same!

We had coffee when the boys were back, then Jon and I took a walk along the track to Felbrigg. We didn't get that far, but I took this photo, after we had seen a couple carrying a sack of potatoes they had collected from the field. I had a plastic bag in my pocket for blackberries, but we collected potatoes instead. The field will be ploughed soon, and I don't think I will get back before it is. Shame I didn't have a spade, as so many will go to waste.

After lunch I went out into the garden. Only one pesky cockerel escapee today, so more defence mechanisms built, and the rest of the day, my garden was hen free. Fingers crossed! I then spent until it was dark making a little wall to edge one side along the flower border. I am so proud of it so had to photograph it part done, as the light was fading. See my extra photos.

Cleaned the bathroom then it was dinner time. Cooked a piece of gammon and had pease pudding, foraged free new potatoes, sweetcorn and pineapple rings. It was a dinner that reminds me of my childhood, and we missed Daniel, as it is one of his favourites.

Aching after lugging all those bricks down the garden, I've seen the Strictly results and am now going to have a relaxing bath.

Headache free, I am really looking forward to work tomorrow. Last week was not very productive, so I intend to get loads done this week.....
