Tom Chaplin

I witnessed an amazing performance by Tom Chaplin at the intimate Islington Assembly Halls last night. I'm a massive Keane fan, and so seeing Tom on his solo tour was always going to be interesting. How would his own songs compare with those written by Tim Rice-Oxley for Keane? Well, his songs are fabulous - raw emotions at times, familiarly soaring Keane style vocals in some of them, but very much his own and some real bangers among them. I absolutely loved it. He did include three Keane numbers, which went down extremely well, and it was great to see Richard and Jesse from the band in the audience to support him. A night that will remain long in the memory.
