Friedenskirche in Schweidnitz/Swidnica/Poland

This blip shows a detail of one of the three Protestant peace churches that the Protestant people were allowed to erect in the course of the Peace of Münster and Osnabrück in 1648, at the end of the 30 year war.
The conditions were
- not to use stones or bricks
- no church tower or bells
- the church had to be built within one year
So the churches were built in timber framework, this one offers space for 6000 fellow believers with 3000 seats! The interior is baroque and really impressive.
The church now belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage.
