Naoshima

Nomak - Gratitude

This is on the island of Nao (or Naoshima). It's an art project island off the cost of Okayama (near Shikoku). It's a massive art space and there are two neighbouring islands that house incredible art spaces. It's very hard to describe, especially with my limited vocabulary, but it's certainly a great place to go to consume "art" on a Disney like scale.

The pumpkin featured is by Yayoi Kusama, a Matsumoto lady who has been a prolific artist for a long time. I happened to go to her galleries and exhibitions when I was in Matsumoto 6 years ago. Simply amazing stuff.
