Change

We're not car people, before we retired we had two cars which we changed every three years.
Must be the car dealers dream, just took the cars in and exchanged them for another, always very similar, always used the same place and had our cars serviced there.
Never been bothered or remotely interested in new models or the latest innovations.
Saw the car as a workhorse, just to take me from A to B with no hassle.
When Mr P retired we went down to one car.
Have been having an ongoing debate of whether to get a new car, Mr P said yes, l said no, nothing wrong with the one we've got.
So we've had this car for five years, been no trouble at all.
Took the car to the garage this morning for the MOT and Mr P decided we needed the cam belt replacing.
Decided to walk to Skipton along the canal, just over five miles
We said we'd have coffee and a mooch around then walk back the same way..
When we got to Skipton the garage phoned and told us they had found out we needed two front shock absorbers, that would cost about £500 extra. Go ahead we said.
Thirty minutes later they phoned again and had discovered a valve on the engine also needed replacing and it would be another £1, 000 pounds!
They then told us because we have been such loyal customers and had used them for years and years they would fit the valve for free and only charge us £65 for the part.
So have no car until tomorrow and came home on the bus from Skipton.
On the journey we've both agreed we are getting a new car!
