Helmsley castle

A beautiful day.
Cooler but plenty of sunshine.

A walk with some friends from Helmsley to Rievaulx Abbey along the Cleveland Way.
Unfortunately things didn't go to plan as when we got to Rievaulx the cafe was shut, and so we had to walk another 2 to 3 miles back to Helmsley for something to eat and drink.
However the sun shone, the autumn colours were superb, and a wonderful view of the abbey ruins.

Back in Helmsley we found a cafe open, where we had soup and a pot of tea. Followed by a bag of chips from the chippy.
A beautiful sunset as we drove back home.
Then spicy pork and rice ,whichI had prepared earlier ,and a few bottles of wine.
A and K have just left, and I am now feeling quite tired after a very enjoyable day.
Should sleep well.
