Notes from a bald-eagle

Dune grasses

It's amazing that we jump through so many hoops to be able to fly a beach award flag at some of our coastal sites. We put up useless information that no-one reads, put out safety lines along gently sloping beaches where the only people ever likely to get into trouble are wind surfers half a mile off shore, and we spend vast amounts of money to do this. When you ask visitors what they think, they neither know nor care. So, this was me, checking safety lines along a beach and putting out new ones because the old ones were either vandalised or stolen. Still, the sea lyme grass looked good against the blue and white background of the sky, so I was at least able to get this photo!
