It's never too wet to fish
At least, it seems, on the Shropshire Union Canal. An angling competition was under way. We counted seventeen rods. Each was raised at the last possible moment, and lowered inches from our stern.
But at least they kept dry. We didn't. The rain was so heavy that I could see better with my spectacles off than on. An operating a lock in pouring rain is a confusing experience.
A brilliant day's expedition.
