Lagos, Algarve

Day 2 Sunday
After breakfast at the hotel, we set off for Lagos on the Algarve coast - about a three hour journey. The day started off rather grey, but improved as we drew nearer to the south coast. We arrived around noon, and after a coffee by the marina, we checked into our airbnb apartment, which turned out to be very nice - just as it looked in the pictures. then it was time for a bit of lunch before having a wander around the attractive town, with the remains of its city walls, cobbled lanes, whitewashed churches and picturesque piazzas like the one shown in my blip. Then we continued walking along the coast past beautiful beaches and spectacular cliff scenery, golden in the early evening sun,to the promontory and lighthouse at Ponta da Piedade, a fantasy landscape of caves, grottoes and sea arches.
