Life, as I saw it...

Elephant Ear

This spring, while weeding another flower bed, I accidentally pulled a nearly rotted, slimy hunk of root out of the ground. On the verge of discard I kicked a hole in the dirt in this out-of-the-way corner and promptly disregarded the new transplant.

It wasn't long before roots took hold. I petted and pampered the new growth with a little fertilizer and mulch and soon this thing emerged!

It's a demonstration piece for second chances, care and affection, and the potential result.
