Bears

We drove north, stopping briefly to visit the ospreys at the Loch of the Lowes and then for a longer visit to the Highland wildlife park. It was a treat to catch sight of a wolf in the forest and re-visit the Scottish wildcats. But my favourite sight was seeing the polar bears Walker and his new best friend Arktos playing in their pool - it's not visible in this shot, but they were taking turns to pounce on and submerge an empty beer keg that was floating nearby. Later on we saw Walker playing alone in the pool with a hard hat, tossing it up in the air and heaving himself out of the water to try and catch it. It was good to see them enjoying themselves.

I hope that raej likes this image. She's recently had resign from working with her beloved bears for health reasons and will miss them terribly.
