Climbing Clematis

Two weeks following we've scored the same number of points at the quiz, last week it meant we were third, this week, we just missed out :-/ hub was a happy bunny as his team managed a great result against Inter Milan, the less said about my team the better :-/

Woke up to puddles this morning, obviously rained pretty hard overnight......but we walked into town nonetheless. Got the things we needed and despite saying we would not go for a coffee today, guess what.....we did, and because we hadn't eaten breakfast, not hungry having had a meal out last night, the smell of fresh teacakes, bacon and toast were too tempting, so our coffee morphed into lunch as well!!! Very enjoyable it was too ;-)

As we were walking home in the sunshine, I took a few shots of this very late flowering Clematis climbing through another shrub in someone's front garden. I thought it would be perfect for Flower Friday.

We had our eye on some very dark clouds gathering and it wasn't long before It started to pour down, luckily we had a golfing umbrella with us. A very vivid rainbow appeared against the dark clouds, quite a sight, but way too much water to get the camera out again!! Fortunately we were not too far from home when this started so we weren't soaked!!

I think it's going to be a lazy afternoon, might even watch Michael Bubles' show from last night ;-)

Definitely a light dinner this evening, I'm thinking peppered mackerel with a pomegranate and watercress salad, and maybe a warmed seeded flatbread.......
