Looking Her Best
We continue to luck into great photo opportunities once we get out of the house. Cuanajo was on today's agenda. According to available information, it is known for its furniture making. We are not in the market for furniture, but have vowed to see all the surrounding villages prior to returning to Zihuatanejo in a couple of weeks. Imagine our surprise, when we stumbled onto some kind of celebration setting up around the main square. We never did figure out exactly what the celebration was about, despite my wife's best efforts questioning a local youth, but it seemed to involve every older woman for miles around. They were all dressed in their finest rebosos or embroidered outfits. Each was working over a cooking pot or on some kind of artesian craft. Quite a collection of interesting people from which I selected this shot of a woman getting her hair braided before the main event.
