Building a bonfire
Here are just some of the volunteers that have been working all year to bring us the spectacle that is Linton Fireworks (with a couple of Accelerants thrown in for good measure).
The team have been on the field since 7am erecting tents, removing turf, putting up signs, co-coordinating arrival of supplies, building the bonfire etc. This was at 11.00am and the fireworks were just being delivered.
They will be there all day and long into the evening tidying up. Good luck tonight fire-people, I hope the weather is kind and that it goes really well... you do a great job and really are appreciated.
The curve ball for me today was learning my Dad has been admitted to hospital with a suspected heart attack (despite everyone marvelling last weekend at how well he looked). He's in the best hands and sister Becca is with Mum, so all other plans have had to be abandoned and I'm going to Croydon tomorrow for at least a couple of days.
