Bran the Port Erin Ticketmaster
Another Isle of Man workshop day with local artists, and involving walkabouts around both Port Erin and Port St Mary in the south west of the island. Noah and I are acting as consultants, and of the type often described as "Come Overs' by the islanders - though in my case I have suggested I might be more appropriately described as a "Comb Over".
Sadly I have still yet to make a trip on either train or tram on the island, though this is a Blip taken in the ticket hall of the Port Erin railway station. This station is at the end of the famous Douglas steam railway line, and is now part of a Manx goverment regeneration programme where some public art proposals are currently being considered.
The picture here shows wire-haired terrier Bran, who had wedged himself in the 'opening' of the ticket office's glass screen (I asked his owner the Ticketmaster his name and first thought he had said Brian, which would have been great, had it been correct). Bran it seems likes to sit astride the counter all day, straddling ticket office and hall. Just as well he is a friendly little fella, though I suppose with those little Terrier teeth, he could always punch the tickets old-style.
Back home to Knutsford tonight.
