Blooming and booming

Once again - hydrangeas, except this time blooming and booming! The big firecracker thing was found abandoned by the edge of our street, most likely some child's art project. Turned out to be just a harmless paper towel roll.

I thought it might make a statement about summer going out with a bang. Here in Seattle, we have a forecast for temperatures to be in the mid nineties for today and Friday with a possibility of thunder showers over the weekend, so there is where the "boom" comes in.
