Inner seas ...

The location given by my phone for this photo is "Inner Seas off the West Coast of Scotland" - and I love it! This particular patch of Inner Sea is the opening to the Kyles, the stretch of water between Bute and Cowal, with the blue hills of Arran peeping over the darker landmass of Bute on a perfect afternoon just before the sun set (to the right of the trees).

I can't resist another couple of photos from our chilly walk, both taken slightly later. The fields in one of them were almost luminous in the afterglow from the sky as we looked north upriver towards Dunoon; the moon in the other was so clear that I swear I could see the dark side as well.
