Lakeland silver

View from the top of Wansfell Pike above Ambleside. Looking down Lake Windermere towards Bowness in the middle distance. And further still to Morecambe Bay and the Irish Sea. A favourite walk, and one we have done several times before. The weather was just glorious - hard to remember it was actually November. And after the walk down to Troutbeck, a late lunch sitting out in the beer garden at the Mortal Man. A robin came up to our table, looking for scraps. On the way back to Ambleside in the late afternoon saw a flock of Fieldfares - heralds of winter.
