Hydrangea serrata

Today's the day .......................... to be blue

I was given this beautiful hydrangea as a present a few months ago - and it's wonderful to see it still in flower in the front garden.

I wonder though if it will stay this deep blue purple colour when its roots discover that the soil here is definitely not acidic - because that's what usually makes hydrangeas blue - as opposed to pink.  All our hydrangeas are pink.

I can but hope .......................
