Flower ?

I saw this unusual bloom in a garden flowerbed. They all had just eight slender petals. I have no idea what it is, so need some help from the blip gardeners. As I have an eye test at Addenbrooke's  this afternoon, I shall be bleary eyed with drops, so will catch up when I can.
