We bought "day raver" (rover) tickets and spent the day hopping on and off trains.

Topsham for a look around the antiques centre and all the little shops, then a wander around Lympstone (and a run away from a huge swarm of bees that we heard before we saw it). Next down to Exmouth for a paddle and some lunch, then a boat over to Starcross. Back down a little bit to Dawlish, then back up the line to Exeter.

We were quite tired by the time we got back, but managed to drag ourselves down the hill to the quay for pizza and cider.
