What colour is the road?

Fascinating programme on Radio 4 this morning. A new series of Fry's English Delight, talking about language and colour. It included David Hockney talking about how he often sees roads as purple or green, whereas most people think they are grey. The ironic thing is that this did actually look a bit purple to me, but looking at the photo it just looks grey...
