Water Rail(Rallus aquaticus)

A lovely new bird, this is an extremely secretive, skulking Water Rail and it only took me nearly four hours of sitting tight to capture this photograph of her! No wonder I have no photography friends, no-one wants to sit under the blazing sun on a camping chair unless they are bird silly like me! They are rarely seen in daylight which makes this all the more special. Love her Latin name, she sounds like a cartoon superhero!
