Food For Thought

It was the monthly work day today, friends have been rearing ducks for selling at Christmas. Some of us worked in the garden while the ducks were being killed, dipped in hot water to make the plucking easier, plucked and gutted. As we lost the light I ventured indoors to help with the last of the plucking, managed that okay but I haven't ever been able to do the killing! These days I eat very little meat but I do enjoy some home reared or locally produced meat from time to time so I guess it feels right to be involved with the process.
