Extended

Yet another backblip -- this is getting to be a habit! But my excuse is that we didn't get home till after midnight, especially after, ahem, I took two wrong turnings in the dark. At the blipmeet yesterday it was nice to meet Chaiselongue and LoJ, and Tickytocky again. And I was really pleased to meet Bundle for the first time.

On Thursdays in the summer, central Perpignan is full of people and live music. We wandered about for a bit and this was the first group of musicians we came across -- a fanfare. Musically, they were a very long way from the talents of les Goulamas, but they made up for it by roping spectators into various wacky antics. Tickytocky did get his hat back eventually. A couple having a quiet beer in a nearby cafe had to deal with people climbing over them and balancing on the table.

We'd soon had enough of them, and after a bit more strolling decided to look for an outdoor table for six. Not so easy, as all the bars and restaurants were packed to overflowing. We ended up at the big bistro near le Castillet that we (S and I) have eaten at a couple of times. It's not great food, but there's a good choice, and there was a nice ambiance. There was a very spectacular big wheel with acrobats just next to the Castillet, but we weren't close enough to blip it. Actually, I didn't take many photos at all, I was too busy chatting! So this will have to do.
