So very French
Friday is market day in Riberac ... we go early especiallly today as the temperartures are predicted to reach the upper 30's. I did wonder if we would be up early as we had been to our neighbours 83rd birthday party and that took some time.. after the aperitifs we went to a restaurant and both of these wonderful men have great difficulty walking so just getting to and from the cars took a long time... but a great evening .. one of those that could have been the setting for a French film!! Enough said... And when we returned home out much later than usual ... we saw the most amazing shooting star . the brightest I have ever seen.. 'Oooooooh' involuntarily escaped my lips ...
Then this morning the market and height of the season so even early on it was packed and getting very hot.. and this shot I think captures the essence of what we experience there .. the stall holders who often banter their way through the morning (we notice how some get the lions share of the trade because of their attitude), the very unsupermarket like produce, the rather sniffy french (I am sure) lady shopper, and the people who just meet and stand and chat .. and whilst there we saw the lady with the shoes again!! .. different colour and no more suitable than last time.. or am I just getting old!!!
