Yesterday was quite frightening, the build up to a storm - massive thunder claps, lightening, and then the initial slow fall of heavy drops of rain, which in no time at all had intensified to a full blooded down pour, including 2 waves of small hail.
Recorded 15 mm in the first ten minutes, and 90 minutes later a total of 117 mm. This brings my recorded rain for the month to 206 mm. 
Large areas in the garden were under water, and the swimming pool overflowed
Regretfully, the flash flooding on the N3 resulted in a log jam of 150 cars and trucks and unfortunately 6 deaths, including 4 drownings. Not at all pleasant. 
Storm warnings have again been issued for today, with further rains forecast for the coming few days
