How can this be a nuisance?

This beautiful purple flower is taking over our lake...it is an invasive species that is strangling out our cattails and natural vegetation.

I'm not sure what kind of butterfly is on it, but I loved the way it looks in the morning sunshine. (Update...after doing a little research I think this is a Silver-Spotted Skipper.)

Only one more week of Gramma Camp...I will be sad to see it end. I have cherished the time I've gotten to spend with all of the grandkids this summer.
Hopefully, they've learned as much as I have.
