Spent quite a lot of the day trying to get my head around MS Access again; revisiting the need to get a database up and running here (and the 'professional' ones I've looked at range from bag-o-spanners to "No, just a simple one will suffice...") so I'm still determined that the lowest risk route is to roll my own.  

Either way, MS Access makes waaay more sense that the rest of the universe today.  One of those days when head-in-sand actually sounds like a rational life plan.
