Morning light

I can hardly believe I've done it, but a friend came this morning and took down this oak tree. All through the summer it has cast so much shade across the garden. I know I shall miss it's beauty through the seasons but instead I will now be able to enjoy the sun in the garden next summer. Another bonus the logs will keep me warm next winter. It must be 20 years ago we first noticed an oak sapling which has kept on growing.
