National Days #11 #Armistice (veterans) Day.

Took my dads bits to the local war memorial. He was in WW2 so his and my mum's and my brother's big day of relief was May 8th VE day; which was also my mothers Birthday, best ever for sure ! He survived the war though many of his pals didn't as didn't mum's brother. Dad didn't talk about the war. He saw Belsen and its horrors, he sealed that experience very deep inside. When I see this years political shifts I think too many people have become too removed from the horrors of nationalism. Memory is short. :-(
