"She says we can eat what we like!"

Spent the morning in the garden taking down sweet peas and runner beans.  There were a few beans hidden in the middle and we had them for tea, but they were a bit woody!  Chopped back the hollyhocks and lots of other plants that were past their best and did a good clear up of the veg beds.  

The hens came and helped, and seemed to enjoy themselves.  I was prepared to let them do what they liked today as one of them laid us an egg this morning!  The first of many, I hope!

I can't let today pass without mentioning Leonard Cohen.  I know he's not everyone's cup of tea, but he has been part of my life for more than 40 years and kept me going in rough times.  A sad day  . . ..
