The Castle

The rain was pouring down this morning so I was really pleased when it cleared away this afternoon and I was able to go out and get my blip.

Went down Roslin Glen because I always think on a sunny day there are plenty of decent shots available and today was no exception. I clipped away like a mad man some in colour, some in black and white and its such a nuisance when you take so many trying to decide which one to share with you all. After much deliberation (5 minutes) I have decided to go for this shot of Roslin Castle. When my mum was a wee girl she used to stay here sometimes and the dungeons were used as an air raid shelter during the war for the people who lived in the Glen Cottages. If you have seen that great movie the Da Vinci Code you will probably recognise this from the last scene of the movie when Tom Hanks finally worked it all out.

Roslin village has never seen as many people since, with tourists coming in their droves, as Roslin Chapel (another building that starred in the film) lies just above the Glen. Hope all my trudging through the mud was worthwhile.
