Grass

Every year the Natural Resources Management Board (NRM) gives a 'thank you' to all the volunteers by hosting a series of events across the  region.  This year we chose to go to an area we do not know that is to the south of Adelaide - the Onkaparinga Wetlands.  We got a tour through an area not usually open to the public, and as it was wet, cold, and windy we didn't see very much in the way of wildlife, but some interesting flora.

We should have had a catered picnic, but got rained out, so went to a local scout hall instead.  It was a great deal of fun, and we'll go down there and explore properly sometime in the future.

Now, if I had knowledge I'd be able to tell you that this is a native grass, blah-di-blah-di-blah that only grows in wetlands and sandy areas and is endemic to the southern coastal regions of South Australia.  But I don't know anything of the sort. 

It is however, a very pretty grass, of which there is a detail in extras.
