Day 252- Kakadoo

Well last night was fun,  part of the last 3 standing, along with Tanyia and Laura. Monsoon bar Darwin, free champagne on a Thursday for the women and then being part of the tour we got free drink vouchers. Well then! Let's just say the night consisted of a suprise visit from a pussycat doll, my flip flops looking like id been down a mud slide, to wheeling Tanyia in a shopping trolley back to the hostel. Absolutely hilarious night. Safe to say on 2 hours kip I was abit worst for wear getting up at 6 this morning haha. Tour guide Rowdy was chipper this morning which was good, he looks like he could wrestle a crocodile, makes me laugh as he walks round with a knife- ready for anything.
First stop this morning was at a little service stop, but the owners have 2 buffalo and a fresh and salt water croc. (Oh and 4 pet pigs aw) I wasn't to impressed as the enclosures were quite small. But how amazing are crocs!
Then the main stop Kackadoo national park!  On Ubirr land, there are many caves covered in aboriginal artwork, really clear ones. Showing how to disect fish and other animals, passing on information to others. It was really interesting, some where nearly 8000 years old.
Rowdy being the tarzan that he is,showed us some green ants, couple of the people tried them and they taste like lemon, appartently goes well with fish. And we found some tiny bush passionfruit which were tasty. This man is the bomb!he even has a pet crocodile, he was going to be sold for croc meat so he took him and named him Dundee haha! When asked if he liked having the croc and if it was used to him etc.. his exact response was 'no he's a little bastard.' haha we climbed to the top of the rocks and the view over kackadoo was insane, miles and miles of different shades of green, from where it changes from land to mossy water. Incredible, looked like a film. On the way to camp we had a little ice cream break, the camp is out of this world!! Little slice of paradise in the outback. A lodge in Cooinda, it had a massive swimming pool with its own Jacuzzi, surrounded by palm trees. I must have been in the Jacuzzi for like 2 hours, it was so surreal just lying looking up at the sky and cockatoos flying by, felt like I was in the lion king or something! Felt like jelly going to tea, Rowdy made this amazing food!! Going to rob the recipe tomorrow. And early night for me catch up on some winks haha.
