Let it go - pc-p 12

postcard: Girvan, Ayrshire
poem: Judith Holofernes (2012) - Das Wiesel

DAS WIESEL

Das Wiesel wuselt ziemlich viel
Übers Dach vom Wohnmobil
Wiesel wuselt: Klackklackklack
Wiesel wuselt: tripp tripp trapp

Wiesel wusel doch woanders!
Nimm zum Beispiel nebenan das
Auto von den Nachbarn
Die haben sogar Krach gern –

Die Nachbarin ist taub
Der Nachbar gerne schraubt
drum friss auch deren Kabel lieber
Ich geb dir ne Gabel rüber –

Wiesel wuselt weiter wild
Wiesel kennt kein Nummernschild
Wiesel wuselt KLACK KLACK KLACK
Wieselt trippelnd auf und ab –

Wiesel hast du nicht gehört
Dass uns dein Gewusel stört?
Wiesel morst uns durch das Dach:
Was ich mach, ist Kunst, nicht Krach.

The postcard was bought a couple of years ago on a trip through southern Scotland. The view of Ailsa Craig in the sunset was stunning.

I sent the poem today to a good friend who has a daughter named Elsa, which is close enough to a personalised postcard. The poem is about a family on holiday, who are terrorised by the noise from a weasel on the roof of their campervan. The mom pleads with the critter to maybe move to their neighbour's caravan (who won't mind, because they seem to be quite noisy themselves), to which the weasel - offended - replies: what I make is art, not noise!
The author is a wonderfully articulate and witty verbal acrobat, also known as the lead singer and guitarist of Wir sind Helden.

NaPoWriMo - my version of it; sending a postcard-poem each day of November. Here is the how.
