Armistice Day (in lieu of Veterans Day)

Today was a day of national remembrance of those who have given their lives in past conflicts so that we can enjoy the freedoms we have.  One such freedom that we are able to enjoy is the playing of International Football matches.  So it infuriated me that such a corrupt and ill-respected organisation as FIFA would seek to ban the wearing of remembrance poppies by players in today's world Cup qualifier between Scotland and England.  well done to the SFA and FA for ignoring FIFA.

BTW - I won't mention the actual game.

Today also saw the inaugural BMWC Sloe Gin Competition.  Fortunately the competition overshadowed the football.  It was good to see so many participants wearing a poppy.
