Love Trumps Hate...
My friend Peggy and I participtated in Bellingham's longest standing peace vigil which is over 48years old. See if you can pick out two of Bellingham's finest blippers in this collage also adding their voice and spirits to this protest saying NO loudly to the hate mongering a Trump presidency has promised to bring us.
I feel it is especially important for those of us with White priviledgeto speak out....OUR are lives NOT being as directly impacted by Trump's hate speech...we MUST speak out NOW against all this hate speech. We must not wait until it is too late to stop policies that can lead our country to a very very dangerous place. Many of us also wore safety pins symbolic of our solidarity with migrants, minorities, and the LGBT community.
NOW is the time to reach out to our Muslim brothers and sisters and stand with them and let them know we will NOT stand for their rights and lives to be damaged, to reach out to them with love, NOW is the time to preserve decent healthcare for all...not to allow 20 million fellow Americans to lose their healthcare if Obama care is repealed, NOW is the time to fight climate change and stop losing more and more species , NOW is the time to protect women's rights, to protect the rights of those with disabilites and our children, NOW is the time to say NO to racial injustices and to continue the fight for equality for the LGBT communitey, NOW is the time to expand not limit voter's rights. NOW IS THE TIME TO EMBRACE LOVE LOVE TRUMPS HATE
WHY you say? Remeber these words of Martin Niemoller
First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out - because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out - because I was not a socialist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out - because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out - because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me - and there was no one left to speak out for me.
