Driving practice

My daughter is learning to drive and today we went to the Blue Ridge Parkway so she could practice.  It is fairly straight, wide, and no one is in a hurry.  She loved it.  Much better than driving around parking lots.

I worry about her future - I worry it will be acceptable for a woman's worth to be reduced to her attractiveness quotient and that my daughter's creativity, her logical mind, her strong personality will be battered.  Did I make a mistake in raising her to be proud to be herself?  Did I set her up for failure by challenging her intellect and encouraging her to find her own passions?

I am moving from numbness to flashes of anger.  I will find a way to fight this worldview.
