Where there is hatred...
Let us sow love.
We saw twelve of the 195 remaining Mississippi Sand Hill Cranes in the world. Their red crown patches and red eyes glint in the Mississippi sun. I have some pictures of them. They were close enough that I was able to get them with my 35mm, and if I could post an extra, I would.
We visited the Ocean Springs Community Center with murals painted by Leif's father (today's blip is a detail from a door and corner). We spent more time with Leif, and as the great moon rose, we stood on a bridge between the moon and a roosting area for Great White Egrets. As we stood watching the moon, the egrets flew in, a hundred or more floating miracles of whiteness wheeling and soaring one last time before day's end, each finding a place, sometimes squawking and conversing a bit, shaking wings and settling in. And the moon doubled itself, oblivious to all suffering merely mortal beings.
