Follow the burn!

Yesterday 'Flumgummery' mentioned a couple of walks that she thought we might be interested in so today off we went to follow the Braid Burn. We followed the Braid Burn all the way from Braidburn Valley Park to Bonaly at the foot of the Pentland Hills. Can't believe that Ann lived in Edinburgh for more than 25 years (& lived at Bonaly for all of her teenage years) and had never, ever walked the Braid Burn route between Redford Road and Bonaly. It's a lovely place for a gorgeous little collie to go splish, splash, sploshing. And do you want to know why I'm not posing properly for my Blip?....................................... It's because there were lots of squirrels on this walk and I LOVE chasing squirrels. Instead of looking at the camera I had to keep my eyes firmly fixed on the squirrels. However, I don't think I'm ever going to be able to catch a squirrel because as soon as I get anywhere near them they run up a tree. And even if I sit at the bottom of the tree and wait for them to come down they just jump on to another tree and come down somewhere else. Grrrrr....................

Anyway the plan today was; once we'd had a little walk past Ann's teenage home we were going to go down to Spylaw Park and walk through Colinton Dell to Slateford, walk along the canal from Slateford to Polwarth and then walk home. And that would have made a very nice walk for 'big long walk Sunday'.

Unfortunately it started to pour with rain........................... So we jumped on a bus and came home!  And it's still raining. And it's dark. And it's cold. And we're bored. Ann is – I'm having a snooze. And it's way too early for it to be an acceptable time for Ann to have a glass of wine?!!

Ann needs a routine and some hobbies. We've been in Edinburgh almost two weeks now and this is not a holiday. This is our life for the next few months so we must stop slobbing around and being so lazy. Actually.............................. is there anything wrong with slobbing around and being lazy if that's what we want to do???
