Remembrance

Today we remember.

We remember the battles we fought
We remember the friends who fought them

With us

We remember how they died
and what they died believing
We remember how we honoured them
And how we hoped that young lives
Would never be lost again

From the leaves fell on the ground, the Phoenix arose
We dared to care, we dared to give,
we dared to live

Again

Honour was served by a poppy

Today that poppy remains
Yet all around the things we fought against
Seek to destroy that which we achieved
And they mock the dead

The poppy has fallen
Like the leaves that nourish the ground in the spring

Perhaps it will rise again
To remember
