Fairy Woods

I took Pino for a lovely walk around Wiggonholt Common , in Pulborough this morning , and spotted this little fungi . It brought back so many memories of when I used to take my (then 4 year old) granddaughter in the same woods for picnics , and we used to call it the 'fairy woods' , because of the fungi we used to find through there . I used to tell her that fairies came out to dance around the toadstools at night . For just a few moments my walk evoked such wonderful memories of her younger childhood . She will be 14 this week . How time flies !
