Hungry!

So many (there must have been hundreds) of birds on the river were desperate to be fed this afternoon.  Here are at least five swans squabbling over the same crust of bead while in the extras you can see the some of the other birds desperate for food on one small stretch of the riverbank.

Little did we think that our shells from NZ would have such significance this morning after the dreadful earthquakes that have taken place in some of the places we visited.  We stayed in Kaikoura and travelled through several  of the towns mentioned in the news reports.  Looking at our photographs and video as I try to edit it brings those places back vividly.  Our thoughts are with the people trapped there and who will have to try to rebuild their lives,
